Fall Term

We are getting ready for a particularly exciting Fall term for the Fredericton Choral Society, together with our conductor, Heather Fyffe, and our accompanist, Catherine MacDonald. Our first rehearsal of the term will be on Tuesday, September 10.

This term, we will, in fact, have two performances. Our first, a joint fall concert with the Fredericton Concert and Marching Band, will take place on Sunday, November 24; this concert, amongst other things, will feature an exciting set of red-blooded Verdi choruses (including the Dies irae from his Requiem), Gounod's charming Messe brève "aux chapelles," and a set of light-hearted holiday music. Our second, a guest performance at the Fredericton Symphony Orchestra's holiday concert., will take place on Friday, December 6, at the Fredericton Playhouse—we will be performing choruses from Handel's Messiah and leading a holiday sing-along.

Since choruses from Messiah are part of this term's repertoire, if you do own a choral score for Messiah, please bring it with you to the first rehearsal; if you don't own a copy, don't worry—we will have copies available to borrow for the term.
